Rahama Sadau, Kannywood Actress, To Appear Before Sharia Court Over Wearing Backless Dress

Kannywood actress, Rahama Sadau will be appearing before Sharia court in Kaduna; over allegations of blasphemy levelled against her after she shared racy photos on social media.

It was reported earlier that Rahama Sadau is allegedly under police investigation after the racy photos she shared triggered blasphemous comments.

It was gathered that the investigation is linked to the blasphemous comment on the Holy Prophet Mohammed the racy photos incited.

A press release signed by Lawal Muhammad Gusau on behalf of the Concerned and Peace-Loving Muslim Ummah; listed some conditions that must be met before she defends herself.

It was also noted that the case against her “is a matter relating to the Hadiths of Prophet and the Glorious Holy Qur’an; and not a matter relating to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.

About 12 states in northern Nigeria practice Sharia law; which prohibits women from dressing in a manner that is deemed indecent.

A couple of days ago, a letter signed by the Principal Staff Officer to Inspector General of Police; Idowu Owohunwa, the CP of Kaduna State was ordered to look into Sadau’s situation.

Meanwhile, a copy of the letter, dated November 3, 2020, marked CR:7000/IGP.SEC/ABJ/Vol.508/313 was posted on social media by FIM Magazine.

The letter is titled, ‘Complaint of Causing and Acknowledging Derogatory and Blasphemous Comments Against Prophet Muhammed On Rahma Sadau, Kaduna, Kaduna State and Request for Urgent Intervention’.

It reads in part:

“I am to convey the directive of the Inspector General of Police that you treat proactively; with a view to ensuring that the development does not result in any activity that could threaten public peace and also security.

“The Inspector-General of Police further directs that you furnish him with updates accordingly.”

Meanwhile, the actress has tendered an apology.
